SAK is an experiemntal poster published by Archive Folder for the Aesthetic Of Why Open call. The concept of the open call was to explore the relationship between aesthetics and meaning, between form and reason. It does not seek definitive answers but instead aims to highlight the question itself. It is a space where doubt becomes a visual language, where research has no linear direction but moves across disciplines, experiments, and cultural fragments. “The Aesthetics of Why” is the possibility of finding beauty even in uncertainty, in the unfinished, and in the apparent absence of meaning. An invitation to produce, compose, and play with images, typography, and thoughts without the need for ultimate justification.

As a designer, artist, son, friend, partner, and whatever other label might apply, the reflection on and search for aesthetics remains constant and essential. As a runaway, a disgrace, an ingrate, and a traitor, my bond with this pilgrimage stays the same. I don’t feel real, I don’t feel complete. I do work I don’t like and I don’t even do it well. Wim Crouwel spoke of the Swiss International Style, the “Swiss Style, ” like that friend who saw your old high school teacher again, and she’s aged. In today’s world, being a graphic designer is a battle for professional affirmation: artists vs. sharks; life and death; two directions. Swiss Style and Wingdings. In the search for hope and motivation, I never ask myself why. I just reflect on the fact that, more than double-edged weapons, we are Swiss Army knives.
